World Championship is his long-term aim
Alain Menu is one of the most successful touring car drivers in the world and is also a record winner of the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC), having stood on the top of the podium an incredible 36 times. He has taken the championship twice (1997 and 2000) in a very strong field.
The 43-year old Swiss driver, who lives with wife and three children in Oxford, began his racing career in traditional fashion in British junior classes (Formula Ford, Formula 3000), and also scored successes in long-distances races like the Le Mans 24-hours and the German Touring Car Championship (DTM).
Menu was the man who scored Chevrolet’s first ever FIA World Championship win at Brands Hatch and another podium in Brno.
Highlights of BTTC career include 36 race victories and two championships
Alain Menu was born August 9, 1963 in Geneva, Switzerland. Together with his wife, Caroline, and their three children Menu lives near Oxford in England.
