MAURER MOTORSPORT ENTERS TWO CHEVROLET LACETTI IN GERMANY

First Customer Cars Will Run In ADAC Procar Championship; WTCC Outing Possible

BRUSSELS, 30 January 2006 – Swiss team, Maurer Motorsport, is the first team to enter two privateer Chevrolet Lacetti WTC in 2006. The team bought a pair of former factory cars and will enter them in the German Supertouring Car Championship, which will be called ADAC Procar in 2006. The team is also considering a limited WTCC programme.

Team boss, Beat Maurer said: “We were looking for a new make with lots of potential and a good touring car in Super 2000-spec to defend our German title in 2006. Chevrolet guaranteed us technical follow-up and developments on the cars and we are therefore convinced that we have a good chance to be successful in our title defence.”

The two right-hand drive Chevrolet Lacetti WTCs will profit form the factory team's engine and aerodynamic development programmes throughout the 2006 season.

“I'm pleased that the defending German Championship team has chosen Chevrolet to defend its title in 2006,” said Chevrolet Europe's Motorsport Manager, Eric Nève. “We are convinced that Maurer Motorsport and their drivers and partners will be good ambassadors for the Chevrolet brand in Germany.”
