Formula 1 and DTM experience
Formula 1 drivers do not necessarily make top-class touring car drivers, but Nicola Larini is proof that they can do. The 43-year old Italian succeeded straight away in turning the experience he gained in 48 Grand Prix – also driving for Ferrari – into victories behind the wheel of touring cars.
In his home country, he won the Italian Superturismo Championships in 1992 and followed this up with the German Touring Car Championship (DTM) in 1993. In the European Touring Car Championship (the forerunner to the World Championship being held in 2005), Larini chalked up eight victories.
In the Season 2006, Larini achieved two podiums for Chevrolet and won the most points for the Chevrolet Team.
