CHEVROLET'S AIMS AT GOOD RESULTS IN BRNO

Chevrolet Drivers Ready To Contribute To An Exciting Show Tomorrow And To Reward The 'Blue Wave' of Chevrolet Supporters To Attend Czech Event

BRNO (QUALIFYING), 16 June 2007 - Today's qualifying for the Race of the Czech Republic, the fifth event of the season, ended with Alain Menu 6th in the grid, Nicola Larini 11th and Rob Huff 19th. These are not bad positions at all to start the racing day tomorrow, especially when we think about what happened last year, when Rob was last in the grid of Race 1 and managed to win Race 2...

The day proved once again how competitive the 2007 WTCC is and how much every race is a different story. The three Chevrolet Lacettis WTC were faced with massive under-steering in the long and demanding Czech track. Correcting that and finding a better set-up took most of the day and made more difficult setting very good times in qualifying.

QUOTES

Alain Menu: "I am satisfied with my qualifying, as wemanaged to improve the balance of the car significantly with respect to the morning's free sessions. I had quite a lot of over-steering in fast corners and of under-steering in slow sections, so we had a lot of work to do. This is a track where everything can change from one day to the other, as we saw last year, so let's hope we can do a good job tomorrow".

Nicola Larini: "We worked in the right direction this afternoon and the change of set-up in the rear has brought good results, especially in the first section of the track. Still, I am not entirely happy with the overall balance of my car, which clearly is suffering from the 35 kg of ballast I am carrying".

Rob Huff: "It was not a good day for me, but last year I qualified 24th and I managed to win Race 2, so being 19th this year, l certainly won't give up tomorrow! I had a lot of under-steer when approaching the apex of most corners and I had to struggle with that also in qualifying".

Mark Busfield: "We did a reasonable job in qualifying to improve the set-up of the three Lacettis but it proved difficult to make good times today. This said, I think we are well-placed for Race 2 tomorrow".

Eric Nève: "What is unusual in this qualifying session is the difference among our three Lacettis. The 2 tenths between Alain and Nicola match perfectly with the 15 kg difference in ballast between their cars but we need to find an explanation to the gap with Rob's car. For tomorrow, we will do our outmost to offer a good show to the thousands of Chevrolet fans who will attend the race".
